It is a Small Date. Anything else you want to know about it?

You will lose your mind looking for a 1982 D Mint Mark Small Date Copper.. Only 1 and probably only 1 will ever be found.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Your coin is not from Denver.
    Have you weighed it?

Most likely copper, it has some pretty deep gouges that would probably show zinc if it wasn't copper.

Copper small date needs to be MS to have value.
The 1982-D small date copper is a unicorn (as Paddy has mentioned).
Personally, I think another one will be discovered. But you have to realize so
many 1982-D small dates were produced, and only a fraction of them have been weighed. So there could be 1 more in circulation. It could take 30 years to find it.
There are more off metal cent errors in the years 1983 and later (copper cents that are supposed to be zinc) than the 1 1982-D copper small date.
