I picked up these 4 at a local auction because they were cheap and intriguing! Anyone able to exercise their grey cells for a bit and tell me what I have got? A - appears to have been revalued once or twice, which makes me think South American? Date appears to be 1655. B - looks Indian to me: C: Again possibly Indian?: D: Possibly Middle Eastern? Thanks for any help you can offer!
I believe that the first one is a 1655 8 Maravedis from Spain... kind of a guess, but the VIII tends to make me think of "8 Maravedis". Examples I've seen online are mostly worn and hard to make a positive ID. I found this site that seems to have some similar "Pirate Coins": http://www.ancientresource.com/lots/shipwreck-pirate-coins/spanish-copper-pirate-coins.html
Bump! I still haven't got any further nailing these ones down, and now I have added another to the query file. I think this one is possibly Afghan or Kashmir, but I haven't found a match yet - anyone able to help?
Your last one is a Kashmir falus/paisa, issued under Ranbir Singh . The date 1921 is in vikram samvat era =1864AD.
