Again I think every coin is the ONE until i get a reality check so tell me I'm a buck or two richer one time?
If you cleaned that dirt in the S away I think you will see a normal S with a light dent in the S from a hit. It's also worn.
the pics are too blurry but not all the S's are thick like that. if it's not the D/S, it looks like an RPM-022, S/S SE...I think the 1946 DDO-004 also has a similar MM. I have one like this... I am still wondering if it is S/D due to the squared shape...good luck!
This is not an S/D. If we look at the positioning, MM still doesn't fit. The position is close but there is more of a tilt to the S on both coins shown. Rpm-022 http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/1946SRPM022.htm It looks like a (trumpet tail), like this one with a considerable amount of wear. I am not sure of that, it would need to be checked against die markers to be sure. I would like to point out the weakness of the 46 in the date. http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/1946SRPM036.htm @Rick Stachowski is really good at this, So is @desertgem
It appears that there are 43 varieties of the your date in variety vista. I would like to see clearer pictures. More in focus. I can't tell from those photos.
When you zoom in on your photo, this is all you see..... This is how clear it needs to be...... or at least close.
