1983 Penny Copper Planchet ???

    You will need to buy a digital scale that weighs to the 100th of a gram.
    They are cheap enough. If you get one and this coin is indeed copper please post some photos. Keep it safe until you get one. Any additiona wear or damage will remove future value.

    Actually 0.01 is fine, I think.

    0.01 is sufficient. Don’t need the expen$ive extra accuracy.

    Especially in this case. A normal ZLincoln (zinc plated copper) weights 2.5g and a copper coin 3.1.

    Check it’s calibration by comparing several pre 1980 vs current coins.

    As long as they weigh properly the calibration is good enough to check ZLincoln vs. Copper.

    What you don’t want is the cheap 0.1 OUNCE scale that is accurate only to 0.2 or 0.3 grams
