Any recommendations on which grading company is better. Heard that PCGS and Ngc are the best

Send it to ANACS, cheaper. The coin is damaged, all you are looking for is authentication. Why pay more? Put is up on eBay starting at .99 and let the bottom feeders run it.

JK, I would NOT do that. That is the one guaranteed way to sell it for as little as possible. Doing that, it might even sell for 99 cents.

JK, if you are not an established seller on eBay, if you do not have a following on eBay, if you do not know how to list and describe your coin in order to get the most attention and thus, the highest price for it, then the very WORST thing you could do is start it at 99 cents.

Number 1 : Don't get in a hurry to sell if you want to maximize your return(profit).

Your best option on eBay is to decide what price would you sell it outright quickly for?
    $500.00?
Put it in a Buy It Now (BIN) for $500.00 with a Best Offer(BO) option.
If you sell it for $500.00...Great ! If you don't, you will at least get some offers that will tell you about where the market for your coin actually is.
If it doesn't sell, lower the BIN to $475.00 w/BO and do it again.
Do that until you sell the coin and that way you will have maximized your potential.

In your heading, list the year, the mint mark, the type of coin, the words SILVER and RARE.
The listing heading is important because those are the TAGS that will bring possible buyers.
Remember, with this coin you have a chance to make some good change. DO NOT GET IN A HURRY TO SELL.

Thanks for the advice. I’m definitely in no hurry to sell. My main goal right now is getting it authenticated. I’be heard that getting it graded through PCGS or NGC can add the most value to it

No, it won’t sell for .99. Go look at some eBay auctions of truly rare coins. Do some searches. The rare stuff always brings out the bidders. With a problem coin you’re trying to “hook” a bottom feeder who thinks he’s getting a great deal. Start it at .99 and let the undereducated greed take over. I done it numerous times. Works like a charm.

It is worth submitting for authentication purposes.

Yup. Cause no one will pay real money for it if it ain’t.

The Ebay market is huge enough that an experienced seller can start a valuable coin at $0.01 and it will rise significantly, usually to market value or above.

But I have also seen sellers with under 10 feedback make as much as 50% less than a coin is worth. Buyers are reasonably worried about authenticity when buying from someone with so little feedback.

A tip: buy some stuff on Ebay first to get your feedback up.
