Has any seller though about using Coinzip's Auction site to list coins. I sell on Ebay quite frequently and quite frankly I am getting sick and tired of the way Ebay handles itself. Granted it is their company and they can do what they want but Coinzip.com has free listings for 1 year and no fees until then. I think if enough folks to use the site and sell that maybe some other sellers on ebay will start to transfer over.
There must be at least a dozen similar sites, none of them have much success though. Why ? Easy, sellers won't risk it. They'd rather deal with the 800 lb. gorilla than risk losing a few bucks while trying to improve competition. Human nature - they go where the masses are.
i actually avoid buying on ebay like the plague. unless its a non coin item. i joined coinbug and while the listings are a little slim it beats being outbid since there is no bidding, you either pay what the seller asks or you dont. its a simple concept and i like it. i find prices fairly reasonable though you could probably find something locally for a little less. i really dont like auction sites, i prefer to simply buy at prices i like or not buy at all. i refuse to get into a bidding war and i dont like doing business through ebay and if i can avoid it i will. i do more cruising through for sale sections on forums like this one than looking at ebay. i go to ebay for a good laugh, not to buy anything.
