Both of those are extreme exceptions.

The lightest Silver Piece I've happened across was a 1973-S which weighed in at 23.1 grms. The heaviest was from the same roll at 25.3 grms.

The lightweight coin suffered from strike weakness near the rims.

Never the less, 22.7 grms vs 24.6 grms is a noticeable weight difference which is used to indicate th next sequence in validation of metal content which, ultimately would be a specific gravity test.

As one poster stated, just looking at the coin says alot.

Clad and silver look very different. Proof clad has the look of polished chrome, sometimes bluish. Silver has the very white look of silver. Look at enough pieces and you can tell them a mile away.

Neither issue is rare. You can drive yourself bankrupt buying these at any coin show.

No need to be sorry. But I will suggest that if you have any more questions for other coins that you create your very own unique thread with pictures.

I'm not sure. To wet to pull apart. I think the edge of your coin would be a good starting point.
