I need to get up in the morning and go get another box of Cents.

    And a random-ish question...

If I take my wheats and Traded/sold them in rolls, how much value could i excpect from them? If I could trade 1 roll of wheats for say, 10 pre 1960 nickles, I could start trading up and get my collection really started off again.

i think dealers buy them around 3 cents a piece. depending on grade of course. im sure a really nice wheat would get more than 3 cents.

sweet! I just finished a box of cents I got yesterday... I got a couple AU's from the 60's that I need for my binder, and 7 wheats, including a fine 46 D, and a nasty looking 28 S.

    Out of the 5 cent rolls i got, I only found 1 penny I needed. a 1982 D Zc.SM.

But, the other rolls had a find rate of 1 out of 4.5. I cleared up 6 nickels, all I need for a complete 1962-1995 set is 1962,1965,1967,1968d,1968s,1969s,1970s,1975,1987p, and a replacement for my green grime covered 1977d:mouth:

    Nickel rolls

Yesterday I received a roll each of 58p and 58d Jeffs.
There were two really really nice coins between them that I was able to add to my special collection.

These are some of the rolls I have bought to satisfy my 'addiction'... and because it is difficult to get the bu's in our wee little town. My bank doesn't get uncirculated rolls at all, except for a couple of the presidential dollars. And, I do very little shopping, so get very little change to find anything really good.

so i went to the bank and turned in those ugly no good for nothing presidential dollars and got a 25 dollar of cents.

12 dollars of which are 2007 uncirculated cents. 24 rolls of uncirculated 2007's. no mint mark. would have been 25 rolls but i busted one open to take a peek at whats inside...nothing but nice shiny 2007 cents. another had the reverse of a wheat sticking out and i was pleased to see that. i opened that roll first and its a 55, lots of dark dark toning but still a nice looking coin. i still have 10 bucks in rolls to go through. i also bought a harris "binder", not a folder, for lincoln cents from 1909-1973. i already have 30 bucks in pre 82's so that's 3000 pennies to search through to start filling my collection. i added a really really nice looking 72S to the binder, i have some nice wheats i need to add also.

im kinda unhappy i got 12 bucks in uncirculated 2007's but they are uncirculated and i'll put them away, at least a few rolls, not sure about all 24 though. i was hoping to find some 2008's but no such luck.

now to go through about 4000 cents to start filling my nice new binder. for a harris its pretty nice, it has these slides you pull out and insert your cents in the page and push the slide back over them so noone touches them and it covers the front and back of each coin. much better than just a folder thats for sure. and with 25% off it was a good price i think, 19 dollars. they didnt have the whitman i was looking for so i went with this one.

Went through 5 rolls of nickels today and 2 rolls of pennies. I knocked off about 12 more nicks I needed in my 1962-2007 collection. I also finished all Lincoln cents 1984-1998.

    My cool finds were:
    Nickels:
    1970-s
    1960-d
    1959-d
    1958

    Cents:
    1948
    1951-d

Two wheats in two rolls! Pretty good, if I do say so myself!:smile

Awesome Day For Me :) :)

I had some time between stops today and stopped at a few banks and asked for half dollars. Most had none but I picked up a few stray ones here and there. I got (2) 40% halves from the loose $10.50 in the teller's racks. Then I stop at a Wachovia branch that I almost drove by but decided "Ah what the heck..might as well since I have 15 minutes to spare".

The teller had $2 in halves so I bought them (all clad) and usually they will ask the other tellers if they have any halves but mine didn't. I paid my $2 but before leaving I casually asked the teller next to her if she happened to have any Half dollars. She replies, "Yes, I have 13 rolls that someone brought in the other day" I say "I'll buy them" thinking here goes another $130 that will end up in my bank's free coin counting machine.

I take my rolls, go to my car and start opening the rolls. The first roll got me excited because I found a Walking Liberty and a 40% JFK. EACH of the 13 rolls yielded keepers. Some days it seems like you'll never find any keepers and other days it's just YOUR day!!! Today was MY days and it was my best bank day in months.

    TOTAL FIND:

    Walking Liberties - 6
    1940-S
    1942-S
    1942
    1942
    1945
1945 (super sweet looks AU to my novice eyes)

    Franklins - 3
    1951
    1954
    1958-D

    Kennedys: (2) 90% + (26) 40%
    (2) 1964
    (2) 1965
    (5) 1966
    (12) 1967
    (6) 1968
    (1) 1969

Paid $18.50 for approximately $130 in silver :) :) :) :) Took the clad to my other bank and got my money back for the clad. It pays to have bank accounts at most of the banks in your area so you can say YES if they ask you if you have an account there. I learned the hard way so I now have checking accounts at 8 different banks.

Great finds FL. I did $1000 bag of halves yesterday and got zilch. One gold plated 1995-D. One well used 1974-D double die. That was it. Also did 2 boxes of nickels for Miss Lucky girlfriend and you guessed it she found over 100 1939-1959's and 2 wartimes. Going to try some quarters this weekend.
