Lincoln cents produced without a mint mark are minted in the Philadelphia mint. I don't see anything significant about this coin Welcome to CoinTalk
Whatever You Tube videos say they are worth. Just kidding of course. There were never any mint marks on Philadelphia made Lincoln Cents for business strikes until 2017 for a one year deal.
lol ive read online that they were worth a lot thanks for being straight up i figured it was worthless but had to ask
Yeah, there are a lot of charlatans all over the place enticing folks with promises to get rich quick, and claiming certain coin dates are worth large sums. Beware of this. And also, if anybody on YouTube wants you to "join" their channel for a fee so you can send them coin pics for them to appraise, avoid. This seems to be the latest angle fabricated on YouTube to funnel those that have been fed misinformation into throwing away their money. And it's, unsurprisingly, being suggested by the same cons that began the dissemination of misinformation in the first place. All an elaborate strategy that leads to the separation of folks from their money. The ability to throw videos on YouTube makes some folks believe they are an expert in Numismatics. Not the case. In fact, they know they aren't experts, but see it as an opportunity to dupe the new and uninformed folks.
It's a penny. If there is a penny in a proof set, that is supposed to have an S, and that mm is missing, then it is valuable. The odds of it being cracked out and spent, you finding it among billions, and then it turns into a circulated business strike are very small. While these coins do exist. (In very low numbers, hundreds.) They are proof coins. Here is a 1990 no S coin. Compare it to your coin.
Why would you think a 1975 cent minted in Philadelphia that does not use a mintmark except for the 2017 cent be special? Welcome to CT.
I've grown weary of calling them out on YouTube. If you state facts to many of the kids of the latest generation, you're automatically a hateful bigot and they need to go cry in their safe space. I'll do one better, I'll just be vigilant and try to warn those of the shysters before they get hooked in.
Indeed he would! The possibilities on the internet for duping the masses are endless, and they'll keep coming back for more, thinking the shysters are doing them a great service!
From 1974 through 1986, the West Point Mint produced Lincoln cents bearing no mint mark, making them indistinguishable from those produced at the Philadelphia Mint. I'm just sayin'.
