My first new pick up of 2019. 1892 CC XF 40 Morgan A (fairly) sought after date, and (obviously) Mint. She's a survivor.
So, John, you are the one who outbid me on that '33 105. I got caught up at work and couldn't raise my bid. Sheridan's pics made it look like it might be the "a" model...if so, you scored!
Digging through some silver dollars and found this. Some SERIOUS die filing was going on with this piece. So much so that the employees completely detached the top curl from the hairline on the forehead. If you have it in hand you can see some major die cracks going through the die scratch fields that I think they were trying to get out. Also there is a huge raised patch coming out of liberty's forehead into the field. Alot going on with this coin. It was difficult trying to capture everything going on in the pictures.
It took me a while to find one I liked in the right price range. Only need two more to complete my gold type set
2 NEWP's. I'm no longer trying to complete a Morgan set; however, I do want to have all varieties in 1878. And this Merc. was too attractive to pass up. 1878 7TF Rev 79 by JPeace$ posted Jan 16, 2019 at 7:52 AM 1878 7TF Rev 79 reverse by JPeace$ posted Jan 16, 2019 at 7:52 AM 1939 D MS65 FB by JPeace$ posted Jan 16, 2019 at 7:52 AM 1939 D MS65 FB reverse by JPeace$ posted Jan 16, 2019 at 7:52 AM
2019 ASE proof arrived today. My annual contribution to the Mint. No grading. It’ll stay in its orginal packaging.
