Hi all, I wanted to share my 1st Mint Error acquisition for 2019 It a Lamination Planchet Error (De-Laminated) on a 1941 Wheat Cent
Here's the link to my first 2019 error. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/gtg-1956-wheat-cent.330839/unread Not trying to steal your thread but I think you missed this. Wondering what your thoughts are.
Very nice large lamination. I am quite amazed by the amount of wear on some of the older error coins. I have a 1942 clipped planchet with just about as much wear on it.
The first Mint Error I ever discovered was one just like this one. I didn't know the proper terminology so I called it The Crater Cent! That was almost 34 years ago. I didn't know better so I shined it up with Ajax Cleanser. When I sent it to NGC about 10 years ago they labeled it Details Grade Improperly Cleaned
Here’s my oldest US cent with a lamination error. Way back when I first joined CT, I thought this might be damage. I’m fairly certain now that it’s delamination.
