Wow! Very nice find! Nice and crispy Do you mind me asking how much for each bill in the set. I find them very cool!
I am so excited I wanted to post the other two again...sorry for the repeat, here are all three of them!! Logical...~350 for the $1 and $500 ea for the $2 and $3 RickieB
RickieB, those are beautiful notes. Maybe I'm reading to much into these notes. But what caught my eye is that the first vignette show the train passing by and folks standing around just to see the latest way to travel. Then on the two dollar bill there's a train but also an anchor on the bottom left hand side (the new and the old). On the three dollar note you see a sailor on the beach with what looks like scattered debris around him (ships anchor) and a dingy on the beach. He's looking back at the rough sea at a ship. Is this the ship he was on? Is the ship sinking? Maybe the notes are saying travel by train it's saver. Just rambling. Lou
Wow, those older notes are pieces of art. Breathtaking. :thumb: Thanks for sharing Rickie, and congrats! :thumb: Phoenix
Hello Lou, I agree. There seems to be a theme going on here. The true meaning...well I am not sure but I will do my best to find out. I feel fortunate to have this set of Railroad note all in CHCU! Though they are unissued, still to me they are a remarkable sight all together! Thanks for your comments and if you find anything out about these..please share! Regards, RickieB
RickieB, here's a bit of history about rail road notes. This article also features pictures of the Tallahasse Rail Road Co. notes. http://www.coinworld.com/news/122407/bw_1224.asp There's also this site that has Tallahassee Rail Road notes for sale. But the notes for sale are not even close to the grade of your notes. www.FloridaMint.com Lou
