1976 penny possibly a DDO/ hopefuly

    I bought a penny folder at the swap meet anyways this 1976 looks like a ddo on the L in Liberty (fingers crossed) any help will be appreciated thanks

    The L/LIBERTY looks like MD, flat and shelf-like...so no DDO...but you are on the right track identifying this type of worthless doubling.

    Normally MD will affect more than one letter, maybe those adjacent might show it as well.

    But you can't discount die deterioration, although you could expect adjacent effects as well for DDD too. Crazy stuff happens to coins...Spark
