I think flattening out the staples on the Indian would be a good idea. Other than that you did well.

I'll send you gratis another Liberia silver coin ... to help lower the average cost of that ... Except it's made in a German mint for Liberia .. a US Coin. I get dizzy thinking about that.

The only one I wouldn’t have bought is the $2, but that’s because I already have a few from working at a bank. ;) We always had a guy that came in and bought $100 at a time to use for tipping.

You did pretty good. Now just work on trying to get another 10% off prices like these and you will be happier.

So the 20$ coin wasn't a good buy? I got it because it was a proof coin and Thomas Jefferson is on it. It is a American coin right?

For your first time you did alright. A little high on the Liberia coin I think but I don't collect foreign coins. Just a dollar or two high on the Walker, Indian Head is fine (make those staples flat) and the Silver Certificate is good for the price.

The $2.00 bill could have been picked up at your bank for face. Just ask the tellers if they have any. The Dolly bill is a nice novelty. So overall not bad Shrews. You're learning! :)

Is that Indian Head really 1895? It looks like 1885 or 1865 from your photos, not 1895.

That’s a silver content buy. Based on that aspect only you would be a couple bucks off. But I don’t know what a proof brings. I would probably get a new clean air-tite for it, but that is just me. It’s a very nice coin.

@Shrews1994 I won't comment on the silver since it has already been addressed. Just wanted to let you know that you can go to your local bank and request 2 dollar bills. No reason to spend more than F/V for them unless they are red seals or something else.

EDIT - and I see that others addressed the 2 dollar bill also haha.

FWIW - I wouldn't have purchased what you did for the price you did. I think you over paid. But as long as you are happy, that's what matters.

It is not an American coin. "American Mint" has nothing to do with the US Mint. You have a silver round of about 2/3 ounce. The $20 "face value" is not US dollars, either. 20 Liberian dollars is about 13 cents in the US, so the value is in the silver.
