"The United States Mint is introducing a new initiative titled the United States Mint Celebration Series, and will be offering various numismatic coin products that are packaged and positioned to celebrate special gift-giving occasions and celebratory events. The United States Mint’s Celebration Series is an outreach initiative to non-traditional coin collectors and will be available to all collectors and non collectors alike."

This is not unlike, for example, the Royal Canadian Mint offering birthday, wedding, etc. sets... and hockey club themed sets...

At some point the Golden Goose will be cooked.

I went to place my order last night for that 4 coin UNC set. They had it listed at $1559, which in this market, I thought was a steal, but when I went to check out they had the total at $1939! I called the mint this morning and they said they haven't had a chance to update the web page! Darn, I thought I was getting a steal! Should have bought them earlier when they were cheaper. :headbang:

if they really want to make money they should colorize their ASE's. im sure there is enough saps out there to justify doing it.
