Nope, but the Chiefs and the Rams both had strong wins yesterday. Two more games today. We'll see.

I usually go to a show with a list/plan and almost always walk away with everything but what was on my list.

Sound like me. And is exactly the reason my wife has banned me from the grocery store.

Lucky you! I always get a list that says "eggs" "milk" "bread" and I'm sitting there scratching my head asking "how many?!?"

Funny, I got exactly what my wife asked for and she and the store manager both got upset with me.

I no longer am allowed to grocery shop by myself.

When I was a teen, yes. Not anymore. In the months leading up to selling my collection before my hiatus I was buying key date Lincoln Cents, Liberty Nickels, random type coins, and tying up funds in stuff I didn't enjoy and in general I simply lacked focus. Back then it was the Merc family....... and then, BLAM! A whole smattering of material across the board. I look back and I'm like WTH??? Why did I buy a Draped Bust Quarter??? Why a 09-S Lincoln? Don't even collect them! I looked at my old photos and records and it looked like a bomb went off in a coin shop. To put things in perspective, the only coins I REALLY miss are the key Mercs and a few sentimental coins, which got stolen. I have to be real careful now.

My habits have changed several times over the years. When I was building a Lincoln set, I had a lot of self control. I lost control when I started building several Dansco 7070 sets at the same time. It was too large of a task. Today I'm set on one coin type but slipped at a show the other day and bought a Franklin half.
I guess it's fun to be impulsive from time to time.

I'm an impulsive buyer, but my focus always was to buy coins older than 1950. Now I'm shifting my focus to buying only silver and gold coins (and I've already bought my first gold coin). But I bought some silver tokens that were not my focus. I regretted it. At least I paid only the silver value in them.

I am the opposite. I go to the show with a budget and an open mind and let the coins I want find me. That way I don’t miss out on many other great coins.

The idea for me is always if I can't find a specific coin in a grade I'm looking for, I don't buy anything. Double my budget later, and still haven't found the coin I am looking for, I limp home to my wife and hope she doesn't ask what I bought and how much I spent.

Well.... At the time of this posting the impulse buyers are two to one over the stalwart buyers. My hats off to ya. And my dealer is pleased with the results.

Planning on going to the Long Beach show and don't have even a hint of what I might end up with...

I can't see you being that way. I'll bet you are a really cool buyer as long as the seller is not an ass.

Depends what I’m buying. I do give second chances to be reasonable, but almost never thirds.
