    The $200 million of notes incinerated were the recalled notes, not the notes with the Hawaiian overprint. The government didn’t “give” any of the Hawaiian overprinted currency to anyone, they exchanged it for non-overprinted currency. The $200 per person and $500 per business was the limit cap you could possess.

    tampa you are correct I wasn't clear on the exchange or the destruction of the Hawaii notes I just know they recalled the them but im not sure how they destroyed them thanks for getting that right

    Nice note, don't erase notation as it is small and doesn't detract from the overall condition and add's to the charm of the note. First do no harm.
