jlblonde, Attached are photos of my favorite African colonial coin struck in the city of Oea, in the North African province of Syrtica, while under Roman rule. The name of the city was later changed to Tripolitana, & known today as Tripoli, Libya. The obverse pictures the Emperor Tiberius, AD 22-29, in the left field is an eagle holding a palm frond in its beak, & in the right field is a laurel branch. The inscription reads: AVGVSTVS TICAESAVG. The reverse pictures Apollo (the god of music) with a lyre in the right field & a Punic inscription in the left field translating to Oea. The coin is made of bronze, is 33 mm in diameter & weighs 19.24 gm.
South Africa Cape Town Tramway Token Obverse: Cape Town Table Mountain / CAPETOWN TRAMWAY COS. 1/2 D (One halfpenny) Reverse: Blank Aluminum, 21 mm, 0.81 gm
Here's a few more recent ones. I was shocked to look up the 1982 Chad 100 francs and see it's listed at $10 in F.
