Reverse side, it has a steel rim band compressed on it and looks like someone was trying to take the rim off.
I can't tell! I thought it was but the more I looked at it looks like it's a tear where someone tried to remove it. See pic in my second post. Reverse
Plated. You can see the copper under it. Not a fake. A real penny that was plated and made into jewelry. Probably the person's birth year.
So this is probably just jewelry that someone had made. I thought it might be too. I just wanted to check because I bought a complete notebook of coins several years ago at a estate sale. Was going through and noticed it so best to check with experts. Thanks
Every time I see one of those it has the same tear on the reverse where it got torn off of whatever it was on.
