Hey everyone, It’s been a while but I always find myself returning to this forum. Hope everyone is well. I just got home from the NYINC and bought this “Titus” denarius. However, I’m having suspicions on what it may truly be. I apologize for the low res images but it’s the best I can come up with on short notice. If you are not sure about what it is it’s okay to say so. It seems this may not be a Titus denarius at all. I suspect it may be Vespasian or even Domitian. Silly me. Please help me confirm the correct ID. Thanks, Larry
It is a coin bearing the image of Vespasian but it is issued by his son Titus after his father's death. You'll notice it names him DIVVS VESPASIANVS or the Devine Vespasian. Nice coin! RIC 357 Here's mine http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-51898
Congratulations. Nice example. I have a fouree of another (different obverse inscription) from Titus:
