Better pictures might help, but here are a couple of yours cropped and joined for ease of viewing: It's an ancient Roman coin and the general type is often called a "Late Roman Bronze", or LRB. The reverse type, although worn, has enough detail to suggest the legend is VIRTVS EXERCITI, with Victory on the right, facing left, crowning the emperor who is standing on the left and holding a scepter. His left hand is on a shield which is resting on the ground (not well seen on this coin). In this small size (~16 mm, from the US 1 cent scale you showed), it will be from emperor Arcadius or Honorius. I can't make out the first half of the obverse legend on your coin but perhaps you can pick out a letter or two with good lighting in hand. For Arcadius the obverse legend will be DNARCADI VSPFAVG and for Honorius it will be DNHONORI VSPFAVG. I don't think you'll be able to make out the mint mark on your coin (in exergue on the reverse). This type was issued by six different mints in the years 395-401 AD for both emperors.
Thank you so much for your incredible help! Upon further inspection, the first half of the obverse legend is gone except for the I at top.
