Would any of these Morgan Dollars be considered as having any kind of error/s because of doubling of the stars, letters, profiles, hair and denticles/rim positions and can carry any premium. Opinion will be appreciated. Thank you. Sham
1) Those pictures are useless in the holders. 2) You have to state what you think you see for an opinion
Errors are not too common on Morgans, but varieties (VAM's) are. There are thousands of VAM's listed, but only the hard-to-find ones carry much of a premium. Chris
First, welcome to CT. It looks like someone has already attributed these. The 1880 (P?) appears to be VAM-8 or 81 on the holder. If it is in fact a VAM-8 it would carry a premium. If it is VAM-81 it probably would not. The 1878 looks like it was attributed as V-166 but then scratched off. If it were in fact a VAM-166 it would carry a premium as well. The 1880-S notes "Bottom Left" not sure what that is referring to. At any rate, better images of the obverse and images of the reverse are needed to help you out. They look too worn to bring any real value even if errors are present. I would not trust the seller. With Morgan's, VAM's are common, errors are not.
