It looks reeded but it's not. Whatever flattened that side of the Cent created that appearance. That did not occur at the Mint.

Have you ever seen those Novelty (and they are all different types) of hand crank machines where you put a penny in, and it smashes it, elongates it, etc and puts a weird reeded edge on it? This looks like a "error" ... "reject" .. "partially completed" cent from one of those.

    But then, maybe not.

    FYI:

    I was nice once,
I remember it clearly, it was a Tuesday.

    but..

    I didn't enjoy the experience.
So, I swore that I wouldn't do it again.

@paddyman98 - Wasn't there a thread posted a couple years ago about how coins are made at the Mint? I think TG needs to learn how coins are made before looking for errors.

but that requires work on studying, learning, comprehending and thought analysis .. versus just posting everything here.

Interesting...a novel well thought out couple of replies offering "help" to members seeking answers to questions about coins, coining and the value of some senior members' ability to counteract with the public forum in a professional manner. I just noticed a couple or so comments that match or supersede this criteria....@Collecting Nut @paddyman98 @SilverDollar2017 ....and some others. Kudos Professionals for answering my QUESTIONS........

Well, myself and others have posted the same comment over and over and over again to countless others. You need to understand the minting process before you can learn about how errors occur. Otherwise, you'll be asking the same questions with every odd looking coin you find that happens to be one of the gazillion PMD coins out there.

Wow I guess I should do more research on coining to understand that portion of your quote...hmmmm is that more than a hundred?
