I just keep all my change. Yup, I hoard all my change. Been doing that .. well, forever. But, I don't search them.
When you could be sitting on how many unknown varieties? Shame on you Sir. For me, searching is fun. Boring sometimes, but fun.
It's much more fun when you do on occasion, run across certain varieties. It's not often when you find something truly worth higher values but fun regardless. I've found half a dozen 36 DDO cents, bout the same amount of 98 wide am's, and others. Some Kennedy DDO's fall in there. Still looking for the killer 'big one' though.
I have absolutely zero interest in searching through billions of cents when I can do things more time worthiness to me like mowing my grass and watching it grow back.
Understood and I see your point. I am limited physically to some extent what I am able to do daily so for me, it's fun and possibly or potentially profitable.
I suppose what got me so 'pro' coin roll hunting was way back when I discovered roughly $500 face in silver via roll searching. Have since given up on half dollars because 1, the yields are horrible compared to what I used to find and 2, the banks really don't like the dumping. Still do cents cause there are so many varieties and for reasons previously stated.
So you were searching for Silver? Not "special half dollars" ? FYI, those microscopic DDs do nothing for me. If you find a 1955 DD (or other major DD) CRH'ing then I'd be impressed. But I doubt I'd check all my change for one anyways. Like I've mentioned .. I have zero desire to error / minor variety / VAM search.
Correct on the silver half dollar searching part. I'd agree the microscopic DD's don't move me much either but they are worth something if you are willing to invest the time into selling them. People buy anything on EBAY these days.
Yeah i had to get away from scope and narrow it down to my loop,i been going through lincolns for ddo, ddr, dpm etc and wheats of course hoping to find something real good as anyone that searches lol.i started out just for errors before i knew it i got containers of DCs ,good ones ,decent ones ,crazy lookin ones even got a spot for good colors haha.
That I never have had blisters on my foot? Or to pop a plating blister? ... I wear socks that are slippery!
I understand the searching for silver part. Much quicker and easier than finding a local stream and wading around with silver/gold pan. Or digging oneself a mine ...
Lol not going to say it is not possible ,at some point in life most everyone would get some form of a blister i would think...speaking of blister i tried peelin that one off on lincoln with a screw driver and it did not come off, just ended up scratching it to heck and back wth.
Agreed - daily coin searching can get tedious - the $ return on invested time is very low unless you find the 'big one' relatively early - if you have a mountain of pennies, better to have some fun with them, like this guy:
