sorry for the not so great pick but hopefully you can see that the date is barely there while the rest of the coin is in fair condition with little ware anywhere. Any info on this coin, or has anyone ever seen this before?
upon further examination with a magnifying glass IN GOD WE TRUST and the Outer Rim of the back side appears to be lightly struck as well and the center of the coin is perfect. I doubt that you would be able to see that in a pic but I will try
It's a worn die strike.. Also some struck through grease. That's when grease gets compacted in the incused areas of the die striking the blank planchet and does not allow the numbers and letters to form properly. Nothing major.
