  1. OK -- I am pretty much a novice at coin roll hunting and just recently joined coin-talk.
I have figured out that if you have a 1969 S Lincoln cent and you start to see some doubling you get a frantic. I found this cent along with another 69 S and started to see some doubling in the date and possibly the "LIBERTY" and maybe the motto. It seems though my finds never really match what is online. One problem here is that the letters are very worn. I am not sure what the "red" dot is but I am pretty sure this doubling is more than die deterioration or machine doubling. Anyway, would welcome thoughts and opinions.
    Thanks,
    Mike

The flat, shelf-like nature of the doubling makes me think MD. I'm sure someone will post a link that will help you. BTW where is the "red dot", next to the mint mark?

  6. It touches and is right of the bow tie

  7. Yes I have seen photos several times, and they show actually separate letters, I was just wandering if there was any possible intermediate level. Is there any mention of a RPM for the 69 S ?

I agree with classic Mechanical Doubling
    Not a Doubled Die variety
