So, I got an Amazon gift card for Christmas and have been looking at getting my first metal detector. Comparing model after model in my price range and feel like I'm more confused than informed??? I also found out my girlfriend has been doing the same thing for my upcoming birthday. She is even more confused knowing absolutely nothing about them. So, what brand and model do you detector hounds recommend in the under $250 range? I narrowed down my choices to the Garrett 250 or the Bounty Hunter 3050. Should I be looking at something else?
Plenty of folks to give you advice here, but above all else, listen not to Woman..........unless she's a detector.
The Garrett Ace 250 is a great machine. 3 of the guys in my Metal Detecting Club have Garrets and they do well finding items. The yellow detector is the Garret 250
i also have a garret 250 an it works great... got mine at kellyco for around $220 i believe, in a package deal with headphones an a little hand shovel..www.kellycodetectors.com
I would say the Garrett ace 250, I have a garrett ace 200 and I have found around 15-25 dollars worth of silver. A great amount of relics too. It is what you wan to do though. Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Garrett-Ac...h=item1c22f21274:g:uukAAOSwRH5XKtlR:rk:2:pf:0
do y'all recommend also getting one of those little hand held pin point detectors too? and if so what one for one of those?
Yes, I also have one of those. The Garrett Carrot ( or the Garrett AT Pro Pointer) they work well and are water submergible. Don't get a cheapy though just buy this one. Also get the orange one, the black ones are not water submergible and don't work as well.
