I have recently began taking an interest in coins and while sharing this with friends and neighbors I've discovered how generous people are about giving away their coins! For me This has been great! Yesterday a neighbor gave me This Minnesota state quarter that seems like a strike error get it is extremely smooth? The obverse side seems fine. I keep looking at it wondering if it isn't just some kind of damage? If anyone can tell from the
pictures what this is Please be so kind as to share...and please forgive my ignorance like I said I am very new at this! Thanks.

Your photo is too bad to tell anything from it.

Probably Heat damage to the Clad Layer.
But you need to post clearer pictures of both sides!

"Interesting" is in the eye of the beholder. And you be holding it where you're not getting good pictures.

Carmen, would you be able to tell anything about your coin with only that picture?

Getting useful coin pictures with a phone is really quite a challenge. It frequently takes more.

@Carmen Seaberg , welcome & congrats on your new endeavor with coins!

As has been mentioned, you will need much better pics for us to ascertain what you are trying to show, albeit, my guess is it will turn out to be damage through circulation. :(

On another note, you mention sharing your new interest with "friends & neighbors" & this can be a double edged sword. On one hand, you mention the generosity of people, which is a good thing. :) However, you will eventually run into someone(s) who will try to relieve you of this generosity. :nailbiting: It's important to shield yourself (& your collection) from those people. This may include not using your real name in posts, not revealing your contact info or exact location, etc. A person may not know the extent of your collection, but just knowing you may have something of value will give some a reason to act.

So, be careful, but fully enjoy this hobby, & take advantage of our expertise. As you will see, many of us have been doing this for a very long time.:happy::happy:
