I'm not seeing any thickness in the letters of LIBERTY . A close up would help know for sure, of LIBERTY ..
Please put your glasses on, and now tell us if you still see doubling. I have a very strong prescription and can see double without my glasses.
Just because I can't see the doubling doesn't mean it's not there.... There are times I just don't see things that are apparent to others, in many other venues also. I am not, in anyway, saying that there is no doubling. Just that I'm missing it. Untrained eye is mine... Just so you know....
Front and rear. The lighting is doing a good job of creating optical illusions (heavy reflections and shadows). Another poster identify all the weird stuff on a cent earlier due to the lighting.
The Lincoln Cent Resource lists a DD for the 1982 Philly reverse. It doesn't say if it is large date or small date. And only lists 3 known. Since yours is on the obverse and there aren't any known, it's probably not a doubled die but some other kind of worthless doubling. If it exists at all.
We will never be able to tell unless clean, clear close-ups of what he thinks he sees is provided...Spark
But there's the rub. He says he can't see it but that "doesn't mean it's not there." So he won't be able to do close-ups of what he doesn't see!
That was SammyMann/post #13, not the OP. The only reason I'm still with this thread is that I think I see something going on with IGWT. @Dowell jerry L ...will you please provide the forum with close-ups to go along with your pic with arrows from post #7?. Michael K is probably right, something should have surfaced in the interim between strike and 37 years...Spark
