What would you call this?

Hello! I’m not sure what is going on with this penny but it appears the surface was not level when it was struck and the image left by the die appears to have been off a bit due to a raised spot on the coin. And the center of the image appears severely worn off from the area being raised higher that the edges. I don’t know what an error like that would be called so any info would be great!

    Shrews1994 Collecting is my passion.

I have a few of these. It's die clashes from the obverse of the coin. Show a picture of the obverse.

It looks like it was cleaned. Did you do that?

Could be a number of different things. We need a picture of the obverse.

Yes, I cleaned! It had a thick, green candy-like substance on it. I’m always curious to see what is hiding under gunked up coins.

It looks like it’s lining up with the back of abe’s Neck and slant down his back.

Improper cleaning of coins will severely reduce the numismatic value of a coin. If you think your coin has any value above face/melt, don't clean it! Luckily you probably didn't hurt the value too much on this coin as it probably didn't have much value to begin with. I myself have made the mistake of harshly cleaning coins which had numismatic value, something I now regret.

Damaged, improperly cleaned. Never clean a coin.

Both sides are harshly cleaned, at a minimum.

Not an error - what you see is the result of the
    scrubbing.

There might have been some light die clashing,
which is very common, but with those surfaces,
the coin is worth face value only.
