A cud is a break along the rim that extends into the field. Some people disagree in that it does not have to extend into the field, but I prefer the classic definition.

Yours is not a cud. Can you give us a better close-up?

Thank you. My first chip! Can't believe I missed it initially. Either that or I stashed it away after seeing it.

Doesn't look like a chip to me. Definitely not a CUD. I few more pics with different angles of lighting would help. It looks more like Damage with the metal being pushed left to right with a slight upwards motion.

I'll see what I can do. It is an odd shape! Thank you

It does look like it was part of the side of the coin and did get pushed up the closer I get. This is at a much higher magnification, at least 16 times

Get some French Onion Dip for it.

Could it be a flipped over and smashed flat lamination?

I would say a firm maybe! Looking at it with a higher magnification, the area to the left of the piece looks like the divot where it came from at the edge. The actual side edge itself is intact. So it came out and then was pressed.

Just saw the photos. Thanks. Still hard to tell but it could be as @V. Kurt Bellman asked. I don't see a gouge which would be Damage.

From your last photo it appears to be a lamination peeled back along the rim. The photo gets blurry when I blow it up so the only thing I can't tell is what that scrape is on the rim.

Edit: Do not attempt to move the metal. Leave as is as you don't want it to break off.

That was my inclination when I first looked at it. It’s either delamination or PMD.

    Looks like a delamination.

Ah, I see it now! There is a small hollow area and missing piece of the rim. I would agree with delamination that's been smashed.
