Having a hard time telling if this is type 1 or 2. Any comments and any ideas of what this may be worth would be appreciated.

A stupid question, this is in a case and has never been opened. Does it take away value if it's opened (he asks knowing full well the answer)? That's why I'm having a hard time reading the mint marks.

I think this is as good as they're going to get without opening the case they're in.

I'm sorry but the only way to tell about that MM rarity is with a better look. I still can't tell. I am not suggesting that you crack the case.

Have you " read up " on what you're looking for?

Once you're sure of what you're looking for , get a magnifying glass and check out the S.

Let's see if these are any better and yes, I've read up on what I'm supposed to be looking for but like the 1982 pennies, I have a hard time distinguishing the differences (old eyes).

    Thanks for your eyes . . .

Though all of your coins appear to have type 1 mint Mark's, some of the sets were released with both. I debated over your nickel as it is quite a bit clearer than the others.

I think Type 1...Type 2 has a "flat S"...They may not all match in the same set...Use a magnifier to determine if there are any flat type 2 Ss.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Virtually ALL the premium value for a Type 2 is in the SBA dollar, and yours is a Type 1. I didn't even look at the other coins.
