Wow, Z-- what a year! Everything on that list is so special, so envy-inducing :D. Equally awesome is your inimitable posting style-- not only are your images superb but your written descriptions and writeups capture the gist of the coin and circumstances with great wit and brevity.

Picking favorites from your list is ridiculous but particularly notable to me are your Cadmus (soooo jealous), Cleo (perhaps the only un-"improved" Cleo I've seen!), Knossos, Lokris, and even the Athens tet! When did you sneak that one in? It's a wonderful example of the type.

When I saw your Athens 4dr I could not help thinking about that eBay listing we had so much fun with offering one for a $million a little while back. That seller would have hated your coin what with the neck being cut short.

I know it is already tomorrow where you live but my wife and I are just now getting ready to leave for our New Years party that is kid friendly and will drop the ball at 9PM local time so the young and the old can get to bed at a reasonable time. After all, it is always midnight somewhere. We plan on drinking a lot of ginger ale, too. Happy New Year, whenever that was for whoever.

@zumbly I absolutely LOVE that labyrinth! I spent a couple of days on Crete while heading out on a deployment a few years back. Absolutely beautiful island. Coincidentally, I also grew up in a small midwest town called Crete. Named after another Crete in another state...named after the island :)

Thank you! Scrumptious coins are what I aim for. Have a great year ahead and I hope we get to see you around more often.

    :p
First addition to the want list of 2019!

Singapore is not in Indonesia, but thank you, Pavlos! I'm looking forward to seeing what coins 2019 will bring you. :)

Wow, that's a great shot, thanks for sharing it, AA. I made the shortest of cruise stops in Crete and didn't manage to get to Knossos. Hopefully I will some day.

Nah, RC, you wouldn't want to take up collecting Greek... I mean, you'd have to change your handle and all that... hardly worth the effort. :D

Thanks! It certainly was a great coin year... even without another forty junky A-Pi drachms to add to the pile. Maybe in 2019? ;)

I thought about that thread too and for a moment lamented the shortcomings of my coin. Then, I decided that I'd be happy to take just half a million for it. :D

Thanks for the comments, everyone, and have a Happy New Year!! :joyful:

You had an excellent year! I like Cleo, the labyrinth, JC's elephant and details of your owl. I think finding Herakles's 12 Labors would make a super set.

Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

Oh.... I am so sorry, my bad, I guess I wrote it without thinking since it is so close near Indonesia. I always had high grades in topography at high school, I guess that all slipped away already :D.

@zumbly, ah you never disappoint!:happy::happy:

I do have a fondness for elephants & owls, but my favorite here is the #6, Denarius, as I imagine an ancient youth entertaining himself with a "whizzer". (Coincidentally, there was a recent post in US Coins where LordM discusses "whizzers".)

Happy & Prosperous New Year! :cigar:

Thanks! I had to look up "whizzer". The thread about them in the US Coins forum was instructional, but it's safe to say I won't be using my Brutus coin as a whizzer. :D A great 2019 to you too! :)
