    On the contrary, there are "dropped letter" errors on coinage. OP, I'm not saying this is what you have, just that it is a slight possibility. If you are able to get the gunk off that coin without ruining it and the letter is obviously pressed into the metal, you may have an argument here.

    again, where's the "I care nothing about the hobby but my imagination sees a million-dollar coin out of dirt or parking lot damage" filter???

    It's the result of tarnish or dirt on the coin, that's why it appears raised. As others have said, there's nothing there. You even admit you know little about coins. Take their word for it.
