It makes them less desirable to me as they're no longer the traditional silver dollar composition. And, I'm sure, being the monopoly the mint is, they'll gouge us even more for less quality. I was already choking on the $155 they charged for the 5oz AtB's, now north of $200 for the 5oz Apollo, SHEESH! I'm getting tired of being bent over, I think I'm going to stop taking the risk of holding this over priced crap as collectables and become a flipper, making what I can and letting others take the risk. Maybe if enough of us do this, the prices will crash even more and the mint will be less able to continue gouging. Maybe the general public will have to fund the mint, rather than putting it all on the backs of collectors.

I'm hoping to buy one... was always a big fan of the US Space Program. Especially Apollo 11.

And I'm glad I never indulged myself on these. Most guides price them at $130.00, (MS65) a bit more for the vapor blasted.

Yeah, they're going to be a winner someday, some are now - still no reason for the mint to keep increasing the price as silver declines. Guess the price gouging is why the mintages are so low for the P's, making them potential winners down the road.

As for the bullions, stackers may be starting to realize what a deal they are, about the same as 5 ASE's when issued and as you quoted higher after issue ends, yet uber low mintages compared to ASE's. If the mintage reported by the mint for the last bullion issue of 2018 is correct, there's a huge percentage increase in mintage, around 82,000 minted, yet still a tiny fraction of ASE's. Although I buy some ASE's, most of my bullion purchases are these 5oz'ers, it's a "no brainer" for the potential numismatic value.

I bought one silver dollar proof for almost $60 (with s&h) on the 24th, sent it off to PCGS for their neat label, and to contribute 'round about to the Astronaut Memorial Fund, and have my one collector's piece for nostalgia, as I was and to some degree still am an Apollo space nut. YMMV.

I just don't know why folks get wrapped around the axle about price. No one from the mint is putting a gun to their head and forcing them to buy stuff. Your Agency/Choice.
