    Hey Guys,

Any good book recommendations for starting, or a series that is good? Looking for something general, and something about mercury dimes. Mercurys are going to be my first pet project!

    Any ideas?

The Complete Guide To Mercury Dimes by David Lange would be a good start.

Excellent book!! Another book thats used mainly for general information about all coin series is "A Guide Book of United States Coins" aka "Red Book" by R.S. Yeoman. This book is full of valuable information for beginners and veteran collectors.

I just purchased the ANA grading standards book, 6th edition. The plan is to upgrade my skill from what I learned reading Photograde. Both books are worthwhile.

Decide on a series you'd like to collect, then purchase the definitive book(s) about that series.

Personally I would stay away from Lincolns and Mercs.
They seem to be hot right now, so the prices are up.

I would think Washington quarters, particularly the silver ones, would be good.
    Or Buffalo nickels.
