I've had my grandpa's huge collection for many years. I don't know very about coins and I need to raise money for my father who is undergoing cancer treatment. I know a lot of my coins are rare and worth quite a bit.

Sorry, I had to remove your posting for reasons
    1. Please do not post your email address as bots are waiting to gather it and sell them to others.
    2. You may not post Buy/sell/trade adds until you have 10 normal posts of length
and the ads have to be in the classified forums.

Read the general rules ( 2nd forum in the pull-down) and also the rules in the classified forum.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Jim

Welcome to Coin Talk. Sorry about your dad. If you don't know much about coins, you better learn before you start selling them or you most likely will be selling them for much less than their worth. Post a few photos of what you think are valuable and members on this site are more than willing to help.

Sorry to hear of your father's cancer illness. I've been there .. not fun.

If you are in a hurry to raise cash (minimal time) the best option is to
    (a) sell the coins to a coin dealer.

    (b) If you have some time to spend then you could simply eBay everything. But it takes time to list, mailings, etc. etc and you pay 10% eBay fees and 4% paypal(?) fees. But this won't teach you anything about them, just will take more time to sell them and you may get more $$ than (a).

    (c) If you have a long time you can learn about each individual coin, it's possible grade, and possible value. Even by posting stuff here on CT. You'll learn the most about the coins and then have a better concept of it's value. Although, you still have to sell them somehow.

There's many other options too but those are the 3 distinct ones.

Ok I don't mind posting some picks and I'm sorry I didn't mean to break any rules. I know a modest amount about some coins, my grandpa loved his collection and would show me different ones and eBay would be an insult to him. Thanks guys, I would like to learn more.
