I was hoping someone might be able to help with something I have no clue about. I recently purchased two 1921S Morgans. They seem to not quite be the same. The one on the right with the dark mark on the O in ONE, seems to have a micro S as well as everything just appears to be spread out a little bit more than regular. Does anyone know about different die variaties in the 21S's I'm having no luck looking on my books or online. The obverse seems to have the spread out thing going on also. The scans don't do the differences justice with the coin in hand they jump right out at you. Even my wife noticed right away. Thanks http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg190/wledswift/morgan.jpg
wledswift The dark mark appears to be from a struck thru item, mint origin, but I'd need closeup pictures to be sure that it isn't post mint damage. As for the micro S, As I recall they were all (in 1921) a very small S.
They look the same to me. The coin on the left looks like it was a struck with a worn die and gives a mushy appearance.
