hard to tell, but looks more like wear on the die

 

http://www.varietyvista.com does not list an RPM for the 1974-S cent.
I would sooner think your coin has die chips at the mint mark.

 

Could it be this

 

There is no doubt it is a MMS-009 VS the only other MM used which is the 008.

All of the "S" mintmarks on cents from 1968-1974 were rife with problems, mostly die chips.
