The mark on the "b" correlates with the mark on the "n". Is this post mint damage? Advice on identifying why it is or isn't damage is very welcome.
Damage. Anything could of hit the letter B.. The displacement of the metal is a good indicator of this. Not a Min Error.
You actually answered your own question when you said the two marks co-relate. Looking close you can the very slight vestige of a mark between the B and the N. Whatever struck the B appears to have also struck the N. As the paddyman would say " It's DEFDAM ". (definitely damage) !!
Well, don't spend it, unless you really want to. It is a Wheat cent, after all, so worth a tiny bit more than face value. (A few cents, that is, rather than just one cent.) But yeah, it's just post-mint damage.
Thank you very much. I was going through my great grannys coins that I found in the closet. As an amateur... It's a struggle identifying any possible keeps.
