Just saw an article about it in Numismatic News. Someone else discovered yet another in Michigan a few days ago, and this one contains both hub doubling AND strike doubling, making it appear to be tripled in some areas. Also, according to NN, it's rumored he found 2.

It's not really uncommon for things like this to happen this way. Often when disoveries are made the coins are all found within 1 geographical area or even 1 town. And they oten find multiples from within a few rolls or even a bag. And if you think about how coins were shipped from the mint - it all makes sense.

Indeed it does. Seems like the Adams Dollars they are being found in this area. (SE Michigan) I am pretty sure that one dealer had purchased a bag or whatever back in 69 and sold rolls to collectors. Now that the word is out and boy is it out in this area, everyone that has any rolls are checking them. Its the talk of the collecting town around here. Mike T. was the one that found the first one, now another gentleman who wishes to remain anonymous has found another. There are others, rumor has it.

That is so cool for the person that discovered the coin. I have bought many rolls and searched thousands of coins and still no luck. I also have not found any of the other big ones 72/55. I still feel like Charlie in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory when he is opening candy bars looking for the golden ticket, only me looking for the Doubled Die coin.

    69-s....

a lot of people are finding machine doubled cents that are fairly common and easily confused with the 'real m-coy' it would be wise to be cautious when and if buying.
