    Hello,

I will likely need to ship around 85 oz of wheat pennies (about $7.50 face value) and I'm seeing ranges from $7.00 to $16.00 to ship that kind of weight within the US.

Has anyone found a nice cheap way to ship something of this weight? Or are those rates pretty much what I should expect?

    Thank you!

Probably a flat rate shipping box I'd say.

They will fit in the small flat rate box with no problem and I don't think you will ship any cheaper than that. I think it is $7.85.

I would make sure to wrap the flat rate box with strapping tape!!!

Assuming you buy your postage online, small flat rate box, securely taped ($7.20 online), unless it's to Zone 1 or 2, in which case a Regional Rate A box is 10c cheaper ($7.10 online).

If you can't fit everything into one small flat rate box, you can fit two small flat rate boxes into a flat rate padded mailer for the same price.

Ship in a small flat rate USPS Priority box. You will get $50.00 insurance to boot. No way cheaper that I know of.
