Hello, Sending some pics of coin that looks like one of those planchet errors I keep reading about. What do you think?

Cents with clips can bring a few dollar. Your is a nice Almost Un-circulated condition.
It look like it was pulled from circulation early on, I noticed there is still some edge finning on the left side near Liberty. I can't see any Blakesley Effect on your coin due to photos, and sometimes it does not show up anyway.
You should be able to see the cut and tear marks on the edge of the part that is clipped.

Hmmm...That will be the first question my grown kids ask me. They think I'm nutty over this penny hunt, lol. I just noticed thete is a "triple rim" around the bottom of the penny. Can you see?

I mean is that considered the same error? It looks like the rim was stamped twice over.

So is that a different or another error than the round clip planchet error? If so, what do you call it? I'm writing this info. on the coin holder, so when I go my kids won't throw it away.

Thi coin was in a customer roll along with a bunch of AU 1980 and 81 coins. I bet an heir just rolled them up and didn't know what it was anyway. They were in an old cent wrapper that everyone likes.

FWIW, I think all penny error hunters are nutty.

Lol, well y'all are cool to me! So this one coin has 2 types of errors. A round clip planchet and a misaligned die strike. Do these go hand in hand usually? I mean is it normal to have a coin with more than one error at a time?

Yes it is common. This is what I'd write on the holder 1970 P clipped planchet. AU. $5

Good, hopefully I'll keep it for 30 more years and it will be worth more. Thanks for giving me an estimate! I think I found another coin misaligned, not in that good of shape. I'll take a pic.

I think you will find 10 or more out of 100 misaligned. Very common. No premium. No pic necessary
