I found this in the last year in coin roll hunting. I think it looks like it can be a F12 or F15. Because of the wear it takes a good loupe to really appreciate how large the spread is. Unfortunately these images are not quite as in-focus as I would have liked.
The doubling on the letters in MONTICELLO is the key marker and looks like there is doubling there. I went through a roll of 39's I had picked up over the years. Bupkis.
Yes, the doubling on Monticello is there, but because of wear, it is more apparent on just a couple of those letters (though it is on all of them) and the Five Cents has the serifs that show the spread on those. I did spot it from looking at the last o in Monticello originally.
That's a pretty good deal for face value, though! Congratulations. (Side note: the LCS showed me last week an AU 1939 DDR they found in their stock box - unattributed. I am very disappointed that I didn't find it first!)
