    Hey guys,

Obviously not the highly coveted DDO 55, but something is a little ugly on the date & the mint mark. The strikes are not even comparable or clean like my other 55's. Can you take a close look at all pics and shed some advice? If better pics are needed, let me know. I appreciate all of your help! 1545906603829.jpg 1545906569769.jpg 1545906672098.jpg 1545906615213.jpg 1545906645101.jpg like my others. Can you take a close look at all pics and shed some advice? Appreciate all of your help!

They are small Die Chips. Common on many Wheat Cents.

Thanks Paddyman.. I've seen quite a few of my wheats like this. No more time wasted wondering, now I know. I appreciate it bud.

You are welcome.. Either they really overused the Dies for striking blanks or they weren't as tough as newer Dies used today.
Most of the time you will see Chips on the 9, B and Mint Marks. It is interesting.

I have noticed the 9's on a lot of my wheats... Many, many more "D's" that are nowhere near comparable to the next. All kinds of different fat, oblong, sloppy looking strikes up close. Great info, glad I know why now.
