I found this quarter going through my change. At first I thought it was a silver quarter but when I looked in the red book it said silver was only made or minted in San Francisco. This one is Philadelphia but the edges clearly have no coloration. Any help as to what this is would be appreciated

Plated my friend. Just some gimmicky crap that the home shopping networks liked to peddle.

Ok thank you. Do you know if its silver plated or something else?

Ive seen silver or platinum plated. Either way, they are so thinly played that it isn't worth anything and collectors consider them damaged.

    JCro57 Making Errors Great Again

I'm an error collector. Dealers at shows show me these all the time. They are plated and considered junk. Always weigh them to see of they match the weight of silver ones - they never do
