Just recieved an email from ebay outlining their new rules. The one I don't understand is buyers can only recieve positive feedback! Don't some buyers deserve neg feedback to warn other sellers?

    Huh?
    Please post the link.
That is (if true) one of the dumbest rules!

There is a whole bunch more to that than what you have posted. I understand what they are going for. So far I have 2 negative. Both are because I RECEIVED cleaned coins. What did I do wrong? Eliminating negatives from buyers means that I will no longer be held hostage for giving a seller a negative.

I have not digested the whole thing yet, but there is something in there for nonpaying buyers.

The higher final value fees are ridiculous. They will take more of the sellers money per item, even with the "reduced" listing fees.

I think that the reason behind this is when sellers get a negative feedback from a buyer, the seller will often simply give a negative in return. That discourages an honest feedback from the buyer.

Has anyone found when these feedback changes take effect?

Yes. This is where e-Bay gets greedy [again]. They are going to take 8.75 percent of your final selling price. Add to that the listing fees and this big change is nothing but a rip off in disguise.

    Supposedly Feb. 20th.

Some of it does not happen until May/June. I found that date. However, I have found no date for anything else in the feedback.

If you are about to leave a seller neg feedback - just hold off till Feb 20th...

It will be interesting to see how many more negatives get left... I guess no more mutual withdraws.

I still have found nothing that states the new feedback begins February 20th. Here is another quote:

    Hey gang...
I just received a powerseller notification in email. There will be a powerseller " web seminar...webinar" this Friday morning at 10:00am, I will be on it for sure.
They are removing neg feedback left from buyers who do not pay..( always have ) AND from members that have been suspended, YEE HAWWW !!!, they will also count multiple feedbacks in the score # instead of just 1 per member.
They are offering free gallery pictures, better seller protection, lowering listing fees, and yes it is true, buyers will only be eligible for pos feedback, sellers will not be able to neg a buyer....., and those seller with a high feedback star system ranking will get additional rewards....
I will digest this and get back after work...I'm, on a short lunch.

Is it just me, or does no one else notice that it will cost more(from start to finish) per item to sell on ebay now? Do the simple math based on the new fees....

It also states that a buyer has to wait 3 days to leave feedback. I think ebay is going in the right direction with this one but what if you have a buyer that is just out to ruin a members feedback score, maybe a spiteful person of some sort. The only other good this is for Powersellers. They get exra perks with fees and paypal support.

Still cheaper than anybody else - anybody. Every auction house or selling venue charges fees. Why should ebay be any different ?
