When I click the link, I only see info on one of them being fake. Do you have detailed photos of the other fakes as well, or am I missing something in your link?
I assumed there was only one fake, given the phrasing. There's at least one that's a lot more obvious than the one on the answer page.
I thought it was #6 because of the mushy letters in quarter dollar!! But i'm not a Barber collector.. Thanks for the post. I suspected #5 in second place by the odd patina...
I only saw one fake in the list, and it was the same one in the link. The others are genuine but some look odd due to poor treatment
Maybe so but this is a great idea and good practice. I'm working through these now to see if I can understand the difference between genuine and fake.
Thanks for the quiz. I am first to admit I am not near as educated as most on the forum. But I nailed this one. The faux toning effect was what did it for me.
I got it. Design was mushy and color looked off. Leaves almost smooth yet full Liberty in the head band still was suspect.
So, Coinzip posted one that is a definite fake, as linked in his answer. I've identified at least three that I think are suspicious. List which ones you think are fake! (3 of them are easy, and no question counterfeits. The fourth.... is weird).
I zeroed in on 7. Devices sinking into fields on the reverse (looks like the eagle's wings are detached), and look at the right-hand end of the ribbon...
4, 5, and 7 are all obviously counterfeit. There are another 2 that I'd want to inspect in-hand before making a determination, and even then if they were real they'd be considered problem coins.
