    What is a fair price for a dealer to offer to buy a 1953 Proof Set? In Box.

    Right in the 180-200 range. Current Greysheet bid is 200, ask is 220

    Depends on if he has some in stock, if he has a buyer in mind or if its something he thinks he will sit on for a while.

    Is the box open?
    Be sure to check the coins, especially the cent -- for spots.

    And if it is not open then be prepared that the dealer will almost certainly want to open it. If that is unacceptable then be prepared to just move on until you find a dealer who likes to gamble.
