Help identifying penny error please

    I found this 1957 D penny the other day. I'm not sure if this would be a broadstrike, offset die, or some other error. I'm guessing a broadstrike error, but not sure.     Not and error. Your coin used to be encased like this:

    None..
    It is PMD - Post Mint Damage
    As stated it was previously encased which damaged the Rim and Edge.

    Interesting. That would explain the raised spot above the E where the seam would have been. Thank you for the information.

    The raised spot could also be from a tight Coin Bezel where the connection is that clamps together..

    I just realized, I have one of these tokens. It is also a 1957 D penny, and from a local cleaners. It was with some of my dad's stuff I got after he died. Go figure! Here are a couple of pictures.
